Resumo
Clusters of galaxies are laboratories of galaxy evolution. In these environments, galaxies experience transformations that change their properties with respect to those residing in the field. In this talk, I will present the results from our investigations of the properties of galaxies in clusters at two different stages of their evolution. First, we will look at disk galaxies in a cluster at z~0.3 that have recently suppressed their star formation. I will show the results from the study of the distribution and kinematics of the stellar populations in these galaxies, which provide crucial information on how star formation was suppressed and the future evolution of these galaxies. Secondly, I will present the results and on-going work on the study of the star formation properties of galaxies in a multi-cluster galaxy at z~0.167. The results from our analysis in the two clusters of galaxies provide interesting clues about the type of processes that are responsible for the suppression of star formation in these environments and the evolutionary path that galaxies follow in their way to become passive.
