Department of Physics FSU
The Department of Physics at FSU invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in theoretical or observational Astrophysics. We are seeking applicants with a strong record of original research in stellar evolution, star formation, chemical evolution or in the physics of Supernovae and Cosmology. Both positions will be filled for the beginning of the Fall 2013 semester and we anticipate hiring at an academic-year salary of $80,916. The positions provide excellent oppotunities for collaborations with FSU's strong programs in Nuclear Physics, High-Energy Physics and/or Condensed Matter Physics.
The Astrophysics group at FSU, founded in 2006, has established a vigorous research program in the fields of computational, theoretical and observational supernovae & cosmology, augmented by a network of external collaborations. The group currently consists of 2 faculty, 5 graduate students and about 60 physics undergraduate students which are enrolled in the new degree program for "Physics and Astrophysics".
Applicants should send a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae with a list of publications, a research plan, and arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be sent to:
