Postdoctoral Position on Massive Stars at the National Observatory of Athens

Applications are invited for a 2 to 3 year postdoctoral research position on characterizing massive stars in the Milky Way and in nearby galaxies. Applicants with previous experience in optical and infrared spectroscopy, photometry, and the field of massive stars are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate is expected to be highly motivated and will work under the supervision of Dr. A. Bonanos at the Institute of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens and will collaborate with Dr. P. Boumis and Dr. E. Xilouris, as well as with Prof. K. Stanek at The Ohio State University, USA. A PhD in (astro)physics or astronomy is required. The position will be funded by the “Excellence” program of the Greek Secreteriat of Research and Technology.
