Gr@v Seminar - Everything but w - legacy science with the Euclid space mission - 04 abril 2018

The Euclid space mission will image and obtain NIR spectra of 15,000 deg^2 of the sky outside the Galactic plane. The combination of images in the visible with near HST quality, ultra-deep NIR images over most of the extra-galactic sky, and 70 million redshifts from spectra in a wavelength range that is hard to study from the ground will provide a revolutionary dataset. Here I will discuss the Euclid mission and the main potential for science and also emphasise how Euclid will be particularly powerful when combined with ground-based data.
