Post-doctoral fellowship at Arcetri to work on Gaia spectrophotometric stars and on globular clusters

 Applications are open to a post-doctoral fellowship, extendable to a maximum of 6 years, to work on Spectrophotometry and the ESA/Gaia space mission at the Osservatorio Astrofísico di Arcetri.
 
 The awarded fellows is expected to carry out the followings activities for the Gaia mission, in particular:
 
(i) preparation of the spectrophotometric standard stars grid for the flux calibration of Gaia photometry and spectroscopy;
 
(ii) science validation activities of the preliminary data for the second Gaia data release (foreseen in April 2018) in crowded stellar fields and more specifically in globular clusters;
 
(iii) activities to prepare the official science demonstration paper on globular clusters and dwarf galaxies for the second Gaia data release; 
 
(iv) writing of technical documentation and refereed scientific papers about the above activities.
 
 The activities will be carried out under the supervision of Dr. Elena Pancino.
