Research Assistant in Solar Physics at the University of Glasgow

A postdoctoral research position is available at the University of Glasgow from 01 January 2014 working on observation and modelling of solar flares in the framework of the FP7-funded F-CHROMA project (Flare Chromospheres - Observations, Modelling and Archives). The post has funding for up to 3 years.

Grade 6 / 7: £26,264 – £29,541 / £32,267 – £36,298 per annum

 

Working with Dr. Lyndsay Fletcher and Dr. Nicolas Labrosse you will contribute to the EC-funded Project (Framework 7) F-CHROMA collaboration on observation and modelling of solar flares.

 

Possessing specialist theoretical and practical knowledge of solar physics or a closely related area and the skills required for analysis of solar, space or astronomical data, the successful candidate will work on the acquisition and analysis of multi-wavelength solar flare data, and also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow

 

This post has funding for 3 years from 1 January 2014.
